Game rules for private games

This page explains how private Last Man Standing games work on Last Man Standing Planner.

Players pay the organiser directly. The platform does not hold player payments.

What this is

The platform helps organisers run private games with clear rules, fixed deadlines, and automatic week by week tracking.

It is for private games between organisers and invited players. It helps run the game, but it does not collect payments or pay out winnings.

How the game works

  • You make one pick each week.
  • You must make a pick before each week locks.
  • You cannot use the same team twice in the same game.
  • If a team has more than one fixture that week, you must choose the exact fixture. Only that fixture counts.
  • If your pick wins, or wins or draws depending on the game rule, you stay in.
  • If your pick does not meet the rule, you are eliminated.

Second chance and edge cases

  • Some games include extra rules to keep the game going.
  • In some games, if your pick fails, you may be brought back into the game once.
  • This does not apply if you miss a pick before the week locks.
  • If every remaining player would otherwise be eliminated in the same week, the game may continue with those players still in, and those teams still count as used.
  • These rules depend on how the organiser has set up the game.

Rules set before the game starts

  • Starting gameweek.
  • Draw rule.
  • Postponement rule.
  • Declared entry fee.
  • Optional organiser admin fee, if shown.
  • Once the game is live, these rules are fixed.

When picks lock

  • Each week locks before the matches begin.
  • The lock point is based on the earliest kickoff in that gameweek.
  • Picks lock 30 minutes before the first kick-off of the gameweek.
  • After that point, picks are locked and cannot be changed.
  • The only exception is when the postponement rule allows a repick.
  • If you do not have a committed pick when the week locks, you are eliminated.

What happens if a match is postponed

  • Allow repick. If your chosen fixture is postponed after picks lock, you can choose again for that week.
  • Carry pick forward. Your pick stays on that fixture and is settled when it is played.
  • Void week. Nobody is eliminated for that week.
  • Eliminate pick. Anyone affected by the postponement is eliminated from the game.

How a game can end

  • The game can end when one player is left.
  • The game can also end with a split pot if the organiser decides to split the prize between remaining players.
  • Some games may end early when only a small number of players are left. In that case, those players may all be declared winners.
  • If the final gameweek ends and more than one player is still left, the organiser may settle the outcome outside the app or split the prize, depending on the game rules.
  • If everyone is eliminated before there is a winner, the game can end with no winner, based on the game rules.
  • Once the game ends, it becomes read-only.
  • The platform does not handle payouts.

For organisers

  • Organisers run the game.
  • Organisers collect player payments directly.
  • Organisers are responsible for payouts.
  • If a game does not activate, organisers are responsible for refunds.
  • The platform may warn, suspend, or ban organisers.

  • Join before the join deadline.
  • Late entry is not allowed.
  • Check the rules before you join.
